My Top 10 Fashion and Beauty Blogs

Blogs have lots of influence on the fashion industry. Many small bloggers now sit front row at Couture Week and have unlimited access to designers. Instagram has given bloggers more of a platform to show of their style and put themselves in front of millions of readers. I have listed some of my favorite bloggers below. Tell me which ones you love in the comments!

  1. Man Repeller: I don’t know if Man Repeller still counts as a blog anymore. But if it does, it could be the only one on my list. I have been reading Man Repeller since I first had an interest in fashion. A photo of Leandra Medine is on my vision board. I. Love. Man. Repeller. Every article (my favorite is about how “not caring” about pop culture is dismissive of women’s issues) is well thought out and has a perfect balance of humor and intelligence.
  2. Asiyami Gold: In addition to her great style, Asiyami Gold writes beautifully about her travels. I love seeing her photos of Africa that prove that the continent is more than a homogeneity. Visually, her blog is unique and appealing.

  3. Wait, You Need This: Sunscreen is the most important step in any skincare routine. My mother has been beating that into my brain since I was a child. Janelle, the founder of Wait, You Need This, recently had a great post about an alternative to goopy SPFs that aren’t always flattering on black and brown women. Her posts are well researched and her photos are always beautiful.
  4. Song of Style: Aimee Song is probably what every fashion blogger aspires to be. She sits front row at all fashion weeks, she has millions of followers, and she has a consistent blog that has an influence on the fashion world. Aimee probably the best style out of every fashion blogger out there and her interior design skills are always on point.
  5. We Wore What: Danielle has a beautiful Instagram page and I love that her blog is solely based on outfits. For people trying to improve their style, figuring out what goes together and what doesn’t is really difficult. Blogs like We Wore What help people see what style points they like and don’t like, and where they can buy her outfits.
  6. Goop: I actually love Goop. I am obsessed with Gwyneth Paltrow. Her outfit at the Avenger’s premiere was something out of my dreams. But, back to Goop, I really enjoy the recommendations on the blog. I have recently tried to make the switch to all natural cosmetics, and I found it hard to find legitimate reviews of many of the products of which I had an interest. Goop had so many healthier to alternatives to skincare that I had been using with caution.
  7. Into the Gloss: Because I am 21 and live on Instagram, I use at least one Glossier product in my skincare routine every day. As my obsession with Glossier grew, I started to read Into the Gloss and now I love it. I love that they use models of all colors and interview people that we would not traditionally hear from. Unfortunately, I rely so much on recommendations and tips when doing anything in my life, and I can confidently say that I have never been lead astray by anything I have read about on ITG. I’m working my way through their Top 25 of 2017 list.
  8. Fashion Bomb Daily: Fashion Bomb Daily is a classic blog. I love the celebrity gossip and focus on issues that black women care about. I also love a good “Who Wore It Best” and Claire always picks the best outfits to compare.

  9. Vienna Wedekind: I love Vienna’s style. I wish I had the courage to be as edgy as she is. Outside of her amazing style choices, her blog is so consistent and well written. If I had an unlimited budget I would purchase everything available in her store.
  10. And I Get Dressed: My cousin introduced me to And I Get Dressed. I want to recreate every vacation she has ever gone on. Her “Glamping in Montana” post
